Pros

  • Available in many colors and styles in both products 

Cons

  • Can crack or warp in extreme weather conditions

  • May fade over time 

  • Less realistic appearance than wood or Fiber cement 

  • Requires skilled installation

Fiber Cement 

Pros

  • Very durable and long lasting

  • Excellent resistance to fire, rot, pests, and harsh weather 

  • Realistic woodgrain or smooth premium appearance 

  • Holds paint well and increases curb appeal 

  • Great option for long term Value 

Cons

  • Higher Material and installation cost

  • Heavy product that requires skilled installation

  • Can require repainting over time depending on finish 

  • More labor-Intensive repairs if damaged 

  • Improper installation can lead to moisture issues

Engineered Wood 

Pros

  • Real wood look with strong curb appeal

  • More impact resistant than many siding options

  • Lighter and easier to install than fiber cement 

  • Treated to resist termites and decay

  • Can be painted or factory finished 

  • Often lower cost than fiber cement or composite products 

Cons

  • Higher cost than standard vinyl siding 

  • Requires proper installation and moisture management

  • May need repainting or maintenance over time 

  • Can swell or deteriorate if repeatedly exposed to water from poor install 

  • Not as fire resistant as fiber cement
